Hillside Avenue on Christmas Day 2012
Taken shortly after noon on a dull and dreary day. The sun did make a very brief appearance later. The same silver birch, looking much prettier in hoar frost two years earlier, may be seen here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2201091 .

Silver birch on Hillside Avenue on New Year's Day
The morning started off quite bright and sunny, but just before midday the cloud cover increased. Back in 2022 the sunshine was more committed https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7071033. But my favourite shot of the tree was taken in early December back in 2010 in a hoarfrost https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2201091.

Hoarfrost, Hillside Avenue
Perhaps the most attractive part of cold weather - sunshine on hoarfrost.

Tree on the corner of Hillside Avenue
On a sunny New Year's morning. I'm not sure what specific conifer this is, clinging to the hillside at a point where there seems to be little soil to root into. A closer look at the bank Image

Junction of Hillside Avenue and Mwyn Fynydd viewed from Barn Lane
On a damp Christmas Day. The tiny area of blue sky - a rare sight in the last few months, heralded a few minutes of sunshine just after midday on Christmas Day 2015, before the next band of rain, seen approaching in http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4790157 arrived.
