Air Ambulance over Newtown - New Year's Day 2023
This was not the photo I intended to take. I've not been well and, after a bad night, punctuated with very loud explosions around midnight, I nearly didn't go out at all. But I'd used one of my New Year 2020 shots to create the Shared Description and I knew the view had changed a bit in the last 12 months. It's not far from home, so I set off, camera in hand, wondering what the noise was. The noise was the Air Ambulance rising over the town. The camera was an old one, picked up by mistake, with a nearly flat battery. This was the third, and last pic, the only one which showed the helicopter (above the overhead lines, right of centre). I knew I wouldn't have the energy to walk down there again. It's not been a good day - things can only get better.

Eastern leg of Pine Tree Way
On a sunny New Year's morning. Although the two legs of this 1950s development are shown on maps as joined across the northern end, the link is a footpath, not a road. See Image Previously a private road, it was adopted by Powys County Council in recent years, hence the street sign, which has not survived well on this narrow road.

Junction of unnamed private road and Barn Lane
It's getting difficult to differentiate the poorly paved private road on the left, from Barn Lane at this point, although potholes are usually better repaired on Barn Lane. A vehicle has knocked into the post box on the corner in the last year. It's difficult to turn right into the private road here, and no real need since it is not a cul-de-sac, but some large vehicles have difficulty at either end.
