Robert Owen Memorial Museum, Newtown
The museum houses a collection of objects, pictures and written material relating to the life of Robert Owen who was born in 1771 near this corner of Severn Street and Broad Street in the centre of Newtown. Owen was one of the most influential thinkers and social reformers of his time.

Frozen down-pipe on the Robert Owen Museum
The sun never gets to this part of the building in the winter as it is over-shadowed by the Cross building over the road. This can lead to problems when the down-pipes freeze up and waste water from the sinks cannot escape. For a closer view see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2190996.
