Numbers 9 and 10 Severn Square are a good example of the use of polychromatic brick decoration often used in the area. Although the other buildings in the square do not use it. The passageway immediately left of the building was once Bridge Row and led directly to the King's Bridge footbridge across the river, with a tannery to its left. All long gone, as is the footbridge. The more recently built Halfpenny footbridge http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/914133 is a little further south.

5 Severn Square, Newtown
5 Severn Square houses the offices of the charity Siawns Teg/Fair Chance http://www.siawnsteg.co.uk/ which I'm sure is a worthy body whose mission statement is "To improve opportunities for anyone who is, or believes they are, excluded from work, social inclusion, and community worth. We work to help our clients to be active and valued community members and better placed to access social interactions and work. We will achieve this through the provision of social and pre-work learning, cultural awareness initiatives, community valued activities, and the promotion of equality for all agendas." However, it has always amused me that the door bell displaying the wheelchair symbol and inviting you to 'Press for Help' is sited at the top of the steps.
