Vaynor is a residential area on the western edge of Newtown, bordered to the south by the railway line and to the north by the river. The river is invisible to much of the estate although it may be seen from the playing fields just west of here.

The business premises to the right provide building materials, but the site did not look very active. The route of the path on the map crosses the business site, but in practice it stays by the river.
