Newtown Baptist Church
Though Newtown is the largest town in Powys, its population is only about 13,000, so the large scale of this church built in the Classical style on the corner of New Road and New Church Street was unexpected. It measures 15 metres across on this (New Street) side and 30 metres across along the New Church Street side. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3585805 The church is an 1881 rebuild of the 1801 original. It was Grade II* listed in September 1988.
