Cast iron water pump at Ditherington
Installed as part of the Shrewsbury public water supply works around 1870 (although it's believed not to be in its original location) this cast iron pump head was Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254857-water-pump-at-junction-of-sundorne-road-and-whitchurch-road-shrewsbury#.WzACttQrLGg in 1972.

The Sentinel Works, Whitchurch Road
The frontage of the former Sentinel Waggon Works at Ditherington. The company had a long and illustrious history, originally being formed as a subsidiary of a Glasgow-based manufacturer of steam-powered vehicles around 1915. A fuller history is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinel_Waggon_Works on Wikipedia. The site was in due course taken over by Rolls Royce, who also produced the Perkins diesel engines here for a long while.
