Flower girl memorial, Wirswall
Does anyone know the story behind this touching little memorial? The inscription is on cement square attached to a large gritstone erratic boulder at the end of the drive to Wicksted Old Hall (which is also the South Cheshire Way) where it joins Wirswall Road. Image Image is taken from almost beside the boulder. The inscription is easily missed as it is on the rear of the boulder, facing away from the drive and towards the fence (although it may once have faced an old footpath that has been diverted onto a new line?). The inscription reads "In memory of the little flower girl of Wirswall" and there are initials "ET" below. The single dead flower is not so old that it was not placed there within the last few months, so there is still a little memory to be captured here.
