Last pub in Shrewsbury
The Woodman is one of three pubs within a few yards of each other (the others being the Royal Oak and the Bird in Hand). Exterior signage has changed since my earlier photo Image Whatpub.com adds some interesting information: 'this half brick and half timbered black and white corner pub was rebuilt in 1925 after the original 1800s building was destroyed by fire in 1923. The landlady at the time died in the fire, and some people believe that she now haunts the pub', and 'once you cross the railway going out of town towards Ellesmere you will not see another pub for about 6 miles. This is largely due to the outer areas of Shrewsbury such as Greenfields having restricted covenants placed on the sale of alcohol by the original landowners who were dedicated to temperance.'

25 Coton Hill, Shrewsbury
A house built around 1800, albeit possibly incorporating an earlier structure (some of the cottages to the right have parts that date back to the C17th) which was Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1247056 & https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101247056-25-coton-hill-shrewsbury in 1972.

The Royal Oak, Coton Hill, Shrewsbury
One of three pubs within a few yards of each other (the others being the Woodman and the Bird in Hand). It was originally a Courage tied house, as denoted by the golden cockerel above the pub sign; the brewery name was still present in my earlier photo Image Since 2017 it has been owned by the Black Country brewery.
