Old Milestone by the B5063, Balmer Heath, Welshampton and Lyneal parish
Carved stone post by the B5063, in parish of WELSHAMPTON AND LYNEAL (NORTH SHROPSHIRE District), Balmer Heath, by the road, on North side of road. Erected by the Wem to Bron y Garth turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- WEM 6 M ELLESMERE 3 M (TURNPI??)KE Shropshire HER. 'Shropshire Lady' near Lyneal
'Shropshire Lady' belongs to the Lyneal Trust which offers holidays on the Llangollen Canal to disabled people. She was built in 2017 and this is a view of her when brand new and awaiting delivery to her new home: Image
