View eastward, towards Whitchurch: ex-Cambrian Railway Whitchurch - Oswestry - Welshpool - Machynlleth - Aberystwyth/Pwllheli main line, closed completely 18/1/65 Whitchurch - Buttington, except that goods continued from Whitchurch to Ellesmere until 29/3/65; westward was the ex-Cambrian branch to Wrexham (Central), closed 8/9/62. (By 1997 the only railway relic visible, other than the main building, seems to be a wagon body).
