School and old hospital, Town Walls
Shrewsbury Girls' High School was founded in 1885. This is the senior school with 4 'houses' named after Roman deities.
The Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital beyond it opened in 1881. It earned a reputation for its high standard of treatment and during WW1 was a major clearing centre for troops with eye injuries, treating up to 800 soldiers a week. It closed in 1998 and has been turned into flats.

House in Swan Hill, Shrewsbury
This house has a massive cornice partly hiding what were presumably the servants' rooms on the top floor from the street. However the photo was taken for the garage with the circular window and the shaped gable, out of the right-hand curve of which was growing a small plant.
