Church of St Mary
It's not possible to photograph this Grade I listed church and its listed lychgate from the road, without incurring a supplemental listing; because the edge of the square runs alongside the wall. However, the 13th C building and its early 18th C tower are picturesque enough to be worth it and an English Heritage Building ID: 255758. St. Mary the Virgin at Selattyn
A well situated church serving the village. This church was mentioned in the historical record in a Papal Tax document of 1291 during the reign of Edward I of England. The oval churchyard indicates an ancient religious site, along with a number of extremely old Yew trees. Inside the building the bowl of the font dates from the 13th century and the beautiful barrel roof over the chancel is perhaps 14th century.
