Early morning and virtually deserted. I'd photographed this site for positional placing for my daughter to come and pick up my car later as I was 'in' for a few days.

The entrance to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital
Recently rebuilt and extended. The Orthopaedic hospital has been in existence as an independent hospital since 1900. It was taken into the NHS in 1948 and achieved NHS Trust status in 1994. Recently, the hospital was awarded NHS Foundation Trust status, as of August 2011. It was founded by a visionary nurse and an eminent orthopaedic surgeon early in the last century. Dame Agnes and Sir Robert pioneered concepts commonplace today, but unheard of in the first half of the 20th century. The hospital moved to this site in 1921 to make use of the former Park Hall Military Hospital, built in 1915.
