The house with the porch has a plaque above the door, dated 1834, with the message "Trefna dy dy canys marw a fyddi" - from 2 Kings Ch.XX - "put your house in order for tomorrow you die".

Bwthyn-hedd cottage
Slightly out of place amongst the more modern houses around it, but then it's thought to be the first cottage built on the village's western open space in the early 19th century.
