The church of St. Melangell, Pennant Melangell
The tower dates from the seventeenth century though altered in the nineteenth. Much of the fabric of the body of the church dates back to the twelfth century.

St. Melangell's church at Pennant Melangell
The church is said to have been founded here in the 700s and the churchyard is circular. The site could well have been of religious significance in even earlier times judging by nearby Bronze Age burial mounds and ancient Yew trees.

Reputed to be the oldest Romanesque shrine surviving in Britain today, dating from the 12th century.
