Resting pigeon by Hall Green Lock, Cheshire
I wondered whether it was injured, as it just sat there in the sun, listening to me babbling and taking its picture. Getting that close I saw its ring number, so it was probably en route for somewhere. Then it flew off!

Macclesfield Canal near Scholar Green, Cheshire
The canal narrows by the cottage is at Cinder-Hill, where there used to be a swing bridge (No 90) sometimes known as Glovers Bridge. The colourful narrowboat is called "Rosie".
