The Mayor's Oak
Planted on Monday 23rd November 1981 by
Councillor Miss Ethel Mayer, Mayor of Newcastle-
under-Lyme, to mark the Borough's agreement to
provide this site for the New Victoria Theatre
This tree was given by Alison Chitty and dedicated
in lines written by her ancestor William Barnes
