Housing by the canal north of Barlaston, Staffordshire
New housing in Wellbury Close has attractive mature trees and a canal winding hole as part of the back garden landscape.
The winding hole (pronounce wind as in a windy day) is to allow boats of up to seventy feet in length to turn round.

This is Jonathan Road Bridge, No 104A, built when the land both sides of the canal was developed as a housing estate. The existing Lime Kiln Bridge No 105 is not strong enough for frequent, sometimes heavy vehicles.
