Hartshill: Bombay Club, with memorial to local roofer
On the roof of this Indian restaurant can be seen the name A.D.BOOTH picked out in red tiles on a black background. This memorial to his father Alfred Booth, founder of A.D.Booth & Sons roofing company, was created by Anthony Booth with the consent of the restaurant's owners, the building having previously been Reagan's wine bar, a favourite haunt of his father. Council planners at first demanded its removal, but following an appeal it was allowed to remain.
