Egyptian motifs on former cinema at Church Street, Stoke
Location: 37/38 Church Street, Stoke - On the upper façade of this former cinema; now almost derelict but ground floor is occupied Date of installation: c.1930s This 1930s cinema has a decorative relief cartouche on the centre of the upper façade. The cartouche is a winged circle flanked by a pair of cobras, the motif is Egyptian, the circle representing the sun.
