Easter crosses at Parkhall Country Park
Erected annually on Palm Sunday, these religious crosses are a feature of the landscape each year until about Ascension Day. Nearby disused quarries in Parkhall Country Park are Areas of Special Scientific Interest due to the exposed geology. The sand and gravel beds here were laid down millions of years ago when the area was closer to the equator.
