The Royal Oak Bishop's Wood
As we were going to visit Boscobel House just down the road, the name Royal Oak is a must. Fleeing from the Battle of Worcester in 1651 Charles II hid in an Oak tree in the grounds of Boscobel House, the rest is history

Village bus arriving at Bishopswood in Staffordshire
This 878 bus is turning into Old Coach Road from Ivetsey Bank Road. In 2022 two routes (877 and 878) visit different sets of villages between Stafford and Wolverhampton. The routes are run by Select Bus Services, Penkridge. Web images show the destination display on this bus conked out some time after November 13 2021. It is a Plaxton Dennis Dart '24' dating from 2005.

Village bus waiting at Bishopswood in Staffordshire
The bus shelter is on the right at the junction of Old Coach Road with Ivetsey Bank Road. Two routes (877,878) operate between Stafford and Wolverhampton, serving different courses through various villages. They often wait here for several minutes to avoid getting in front of schedule. This bus is an 877. It is a Dennis Dart SLF with Alexander B38F body dating from 2005. The services are run by Select Bus Services, Penkridge.
