Henry Venables Hardwoods Ltd, Castletown Saw Mills
The location is approximate because venables is long gone and there is a new estate in this position with roads named after trees/woods. The picture shows a Belliss & Morcom inverted vertical compound (enclosed) steam engine driving an alternator. The position of the tachometer needle and the wisp of gland steam confirm that it is running. It was built in 1935 for a mental hospital in Denbigh and installed here from a scrapyard in 1992. It certainly ran beyond 1998 but Venables subsequently went bust and it claimed the engine was removed for re-use overseas. At the moment there are very few (if any) working installations of this type in the UK.

Henry Venables, Castletown Sawmills, Stafford
Now an housing estate. This was a hardwood sawmills that supplied the wood for Portcullis House, Westminster and apparently went bust in the process. This is part of the sawdust burning plant that supplied steam to a Belliss & Morcom steam engine that generated at least some of the power required on site.

Saint-Gobain abrasives, Stafford
The building, which dates from about 1912, is part of the large French multinational corporation dealing in construction products, and making abrasives for the aircraft industry. After 15 years, the company has now moved its production operations to new premises in Eccleshall. However, the HQ and warehousing remains here. Seen from the railway bridge on Doxey Road.
