A34 approaching Meaford roundabout
Before the advent of the M6 locally in 1962 the junction ahead was a key decision point for traffic. Left for Chester, North Wales and the Wirral (plus Liverpool Docks through the Mersey Tunnel). Ahead for Manchester, the rest of Lancashire and points north.
