New housing by the Caldon Canal near Hanley
This is the Caldon Canal south-west of Botteslow Road Bridge, No 10.
The apartments have been built on the site of demolished old factories. There are many cleared brown-field sites in the area which are earmarked for such development schemes. Since the date of this image (2009) the site on the left has been covered in houses, though the two old bottle kilns have been preserved.

Canalside housing and bottle kilns, Stoke-on-Trent
The transformation of many former industrial brown-field sites along this canal is well on the way with many housing developments. Occasional "heritage" remnants are Grade II listed so are kept as a reminder of the area's industrial past.
Off to the right is the housing which has replaced the demolished Johnson's pottery, with two bottle kilns and the main frontage in Eastwood Road preserved.

Behind the wall on the right is a small undeveloped plot (I don't know why) by the housing which has replaced the demolished Johnson's pottery.
