On the door of the entrance is a notice about an application to demolish the disused Slimma clothing factory during August/September 2013. There are plans to build houses on the site. Although parts of the factory have not much architectural merit, the oldest parts, as shown here, are impressively decorated.

Slimma clothing factory, Waterloo Street, Leek
The factory appears to have just closed due to relocation. The company address is given round the corner as Barngate Street. The chimney is quite distinguished with a square pedestal and an oversailer. Waterloo Mills opposite are now converted to flats and are architecturally very distinguished. This type of single storey works is much more likely to be swept away and is anyway a lot less aesthetically pleasing.
