York Mill, Leek
One of the textile mills of Brough Nicholson & Hall. York Mill on Ashbourne Road, constructed in 1898 and named to commemorate a visit to Leek by the Duke and Duchess of York in 1900. Information derived in large part from Flickr. The day was truly lousy and this is the Canon EOS30D in manual mode at 1600 ASA.

Alleyway off Well Street
This alley has retained the original Victorian paving with a mixture of plain and patterned blue engineering brick paviors, and stone flags down the centre. The dormered window of the terraced house in the background is also an unusual detail for this type of housing.
