Bridge Over Shirley Brook
This bridge, which takes the footpath to Foxt over Shirley Brook, has a mysterious second arch. This may have been part of the water management for the Cupola Mill, which used to stand further down the valley, near Froghall Wharf.

Old Colliery Site
The two spoil heaps are on either side of the disused mine shaft. The colliery was active in the late 19th century.

Footpath on abandoned tramway
The gravity operated tramway was originally built to carry limestone from the quarries at Caldon Low (4 miles to the west) to the canal and lime kilns at Froghall Wharf. It was abandoned in the 1920s.
