Vintage buses at Labworth Park, Canvey
The bus on the left is a former Northampton Corporation Crossley with Roe bodywork dating from 1946. Next to it is an all-Crossley vehicle once owned by Sunderland Corporation and a year younger than its neighbour. Both vehicles (and many others) were at a bus rally sponsored by the nearby Castle Point Transport Museum on the occasion of its annual open day.

Vintage Leyland PD1 bus at Labworth Park, Canvey
This is a Leyland PD1/1 with Alexander bodywork built in 1946 (almost) entirely to a standard Leyland design. Its original owner was the City Coach Company of Brentwood which was sold to the nationalised Westcliff-on-Sea Motor Services in 1952. It passed to Eastern National when it absorbed the Westcliff fleet in 1955 and the bus was converted to open-top in 1958. It (and many others) were at a bus rally sponsored by the nearby Castle Point Transport Museum on the occasion of its annual open day.

Southend Corporation bus at Labworth Park, Canvey
The bus is a former London Transport Daimler CWA6 built 1944 and acquired by Southend Corporation in 1953 for trolleybus replacement. Its Massey body is newer than its chassis having been fitted just before the bus went into service at Southend. The other bus is a former Eastern National Bristol FLF dating from the 1960s. Both vehicles (and many others) were at a bus rally sponsored by the nearby Castle Point Transport Museum on the occasion of its annual open day.
