Former Town Hall, Rayleigh
Before the merging of Rochford Rural District Council and Rayleigh Urban D.C. this was the home of the latter. Rochford District Council still has offices in an annexe, but the main building now houses a firm of solicitors. A former manor house, Barringtons, the current facade dates from 1844.

Old Milestone by the B1013, Hockley Road, Rayleigh parish
Carved stone post by the B1013, in parish of RAYLEIGH (ROCHFORD District), in garden of Sweyne Court, Hockley Road, by the road, on Southeast side of road. Erected by the Rochford Hundred (Div of Essex First Dist) turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-
