Former Town Hall, Rayleigh
Before the merging of Rochford Rural District Council and Rayleigh Urban D.C. this was the home of the latter. Rochford District Council still has offices in an annexe, but the main building now houses a firm of solicitors. A former manor house, Barringtons, the current facade dates from 1844.

Holy Trinity Church, Rayleigh
A church existed on this site in Saxon times and the present building incorporates a Norman chancel. The tower dates from the 15th Century and includes stones taken from the castle when that fell into disuse. The church is entered through a brickwork porch dating from the Tudor period.
