Hockley centre
Taken from Main Road showing Spa Road (left), Southend Road (centre) and Woodlands Road (right). Hockley has grown considerably in the last half century with newer low-rise buildings replacing terraced cottages and small shops. However 'The Spa Hotel' (left) has remained a constant feature over the years.

Bramerton Road Community Church, Hockley
The church is part of the United Reformed Church which was originally formed in 1972 through the amalgamation of the English and Welsh Congregationalists and the English Presbyterians. This particular church dates from 1926.

The old Hockley Fire Station
Hockley fire station built by Rochford Rural District Fire Brigade in 1940. Passed into the hands of the National Fire Service and then taken over by Essex County Fire Brigade in 1948 and remained in use until 1973 when it closed and the crew moved into the nearby Hawkwell Fire Station. It is now used by the Parish Council and provides the community a meeting place.
