The Plough and Sail, Paglesham Eastend
Plough and Sail is an unusual (although not unique) name for a pub but it seems appropriate here near where Essex farmland meets the tidal River Roach and its boatyard.

Plough & Sail
The plough & Sail is a free house where one can get a pint of Pagelsham Punch Cider which is brewed within 50 yards of the pub from local apples. The bunting is for the Diamond Jubilee.

Plough and Sail, Paglesham Eastend
At the end of the road, a grade II listed building, 17th century or earlier in origin. The unmade road on the left, publicly only a footpath, takes a rather indirect route to the River Roach. The name of the pub remains an accurate summary of what goes on around here.

Looking towards the end of the road, Paglesham Eastend
The van down the road is parked opposite the Plough and Sail pub. It has just arrived, and is an Essex County Council travelling library.
