Shoebury Garrison: Former Married Officers' Quarters
Three blocks of married officers' quarters were built along the north side of The Terrace, overlooking the cricket ground, between 1866 and 1871. They were known as Blocks A to G. One of them contained the surgeon's house, and the block in the photograph is the central Block C to E. All the Blocks are Grade II Listed Buildings. Following the closure of the garrison in the 1980s they have subsequently been converted into residential properties.
