Prittlewell Priory, Essex
Standing in the grounds of Priory Park in Prittlewell, are the remains of the Cluniac Priory of St Mary's, founded in the early 12th century by Robert FitzSuen. Most of the priory, including all of the church, was destroyed following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536. However, the lovely Refectory, Prior's Chamber with cellars below, and part of the cloisters still stand. These buildings now house a museum, which became Southend's first museum in 1921. The photo shows the Refectory on the left and the Prior's Chamber to the right.

This is one of the entrances to Priory Park. This one leads to the car park. Only one gate is left, I opened it slightly so the design can be seen.
