Waitrose Delivery Area
Not an area you usually see when you go shopping.
This is the delivery area for the Waitrose Store in Fossetts Way Southend.
Waitrose kindly allowed the Leukaemia Research Southend Branch to start and finish their Bikeathon there for many years. This was taken at the event in 2006.

Jones Memorial Recreation Ground, Southend-on-Sea
The wording on this ornamental entrance reads: PRESENTED BY R.A.JONES IN MEMORY OF HIS LATE WIFE TO THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF SOUTHEND-ON-SEA FOR THE USE OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS OF THE TOWN A.D.1913. R.A.Jones himself was a prominent Southend jeweller. The recreation ground still comprises several playing fields.

Towers and pylon, Southend-on-Sea
Taken near the Jones Memorial Ground roundabout. The left-hand tower is at Sutton Road Fire Station and the one on the right is both the tower of the Sutton Road Crematorium chapel and the crematorium chimney.
