Jones Memorial Recreation Ground, Southend-on-Sea
The wording on this ornamental entrance reads: PRESENTED BY R.A.JONES IN MEMORY OF HIS LATE WIFE TO THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF SOUTHEND-ON-SEA FOR THE USE OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS OF THE TOWN A.D.1913. R.A.Jones himself was a prominent Southend jeweller. The recreation ground still comprises several playing fields.
