Motcombe has had a post office since 1869 although I've no idea if it's always been on this site!

The view northwest from outside the post office, along the main street, called simply The Street, towards the little Methodist chapel. To the right of the chapel is the boarded up Royal Oak pub.

Motcombe Methodist Church
On The Street; a plaque dates the building to 1870, and calls it "Wesleyan Chapel". An informant says that the building is an addition to the original chapel, at the back, built by Henry Broadway in 1774; the newer building was built by John Broadway.
