Cobb wall
Close up of the wall Image The wall is made from chalk with flint and lumps of chalk. Usually fibrous material like straw or heather can be used in the mix as a binder. None visible in this picture. Some of the small holes are made by insects. The larger holes are where stones have fallen out.

Hampshire Gate at entry to meadows
Just strands of barbed wire separated by sticks. The end stick is drawn up to the post and secured with a loop of wire, baler twine or a piece of chain. Beyond the gate are old water meadows beside the river Avon.
