Pub on Station Road; originally Station Hotel, then Load of Hay, then Augustus John, named after the artist who used to frequent it with his entourage. Internally, semi-circular bar, L-shaped drinking & eating area. Cask ales on offer at my visit: Ringwood Best, Bold Forester. Station Road passes the Augustus John pub
Although he was born a Welshman, at Tenby in Pembrokeshire; Augustus John (exponent of Post-Impressionism) died in Fordingbridge on 31 October 1961. This pub was renamed in his honour.
