Hospital - butcher's shop - private home
This house, on the corner of Slab Lane, used to be Reffell's butchers shop. Before that, in the 19th century, it was Downton Cottage Hospital.

Writing on the wall, Lode Hill

Former Wesleyan Chapel, Lode Hill
Built in 1814 as the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel it closed in 1849. From that time the building has had several uses. From 1849 to the 1870s as a cottages hospital. The building was then a butchers shop and more recently it has been converted into flats.
