A pub called the Rose and Crown has been on this site since 1844 although it was rebuilt in 1896 in the form of the current building.

View NW, across ex-London & South Western branch, Porton - Amesbury - Bulford, with an extension into Bulford Camp. Passenger services had ceased 30/6/52, but goods lasted until 4/3/63.
