Old Milestone by Stockport Road, Amesbury
Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of Amesbury (Salisbury District), Boscombe Down Camp, between Hunter and Tornado block bike sheds, 8m inside camp perimeter, on East side of road. Salisbury Roman stone, erected by the Marlborough & Salisbury turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- To Salifbury VII Miles To Marlbro XX Carved benchmark left lower, and incised panel left upper : W10 H12 : Milestone Society National ID: WI_MLSA20

A rather redundant little cul-de-sac with a roundabout at the end near to Boscombe Down in Amesbury, lined with trees on both sides. I'm sure it had a purpose at some point.
