Monument to Sir Richard Brydges - St James' church, Ludgershall
This magnificent canopied tomb-monument to Sir Richard Brydges and his wife, is one of the most important of its date in England. It is representative of a transitional style no longer of the period of Henry VIII, yet still not quite Elizabethan. Sir Richard, a onetime MP who served as High Sheriff of Berkshire in 1554, was knighted at Mary Tudor's coronation.
