Beyond this little postbox, which is emptied at 4:45pm on weekdays and at 11am on Saturdays, we see the back end of a car travelling from Andover towards Salisbury on the A343.

Abbotts Ann Down
Approaching the hamlet on the footpath from Abbotts Ann. The flowers are poppies. This is a large field of them, which may be for morphine production. I found this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1648837.stm on the BBC from 2001.

Old Milestone by the A343, Abbotts Ann Down
Carved stone post with iron plates by the A343, in parish of ABBOTTS ANN (TEST VALLEY District), Down Farm, by the road, on West side of road. Lopcombe pillar, erected by the Andover & Basingstoke turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-
