Longparish is lucky in that it has a post office and a village shop.

Longparish village - behind the scenes
It's good to see that behind the picture-postcard scenes on the main road through the village, life goes on as normal. Behind this thatched cottage is a garage area complete with skip and sign banning ball games and skateboarding. The village has its own skate park further down the valley towards Middleton, presumably this is where skateboarders should go for practice.

Longparish village scene
Longparish is an appropriate name for a village that stretches for nearly three miles along the road. It is made up of four separate hamlets. This part was originally called Middleton.

B3048 passes The Cricketers Inn
Here's a village street redolent with the past. The early 19th C pub is Grade II listed with English Heritage Building ID: 139668 and sits next door to the slightly earlier Meadow Lawn. The house carries English Heritage Building ID: 139671 and the Grade II listing particularly mentions the cast-iron porch. Opposite them both and contemporary with Meadow Lawn is Maiden Cottage.
