An open space has been retained to provide a valuable breathing space for three housing estates, with a fourth to be built shortly. The park is popular with local families and is well equipped with play equipment for children.

A343 is also Newbury Road
I'm always impressed by the avenue of well shaped trees along this stretch of dual carriageway. They are, I believe, Zelkova carpinifolia a relative of the elm which adopts a characteristic neat tulip shape very suitable for this situation.
