Eastleigh: Former Council Offices
These are the late Victorian offices of the former Eastleigh and Bishopstoke Council in Leigh Road. In 1936 Eastleigh became a Borough in its own right and this building then became the Town Hall. The building post-dates all of the earlier Victorian houses to the south and is pleasantly proportioned with a fine clock tower which gratifyingly was telling the right time. This view was taken from Cranbury Road.

Eastleigh: The Point
Former council offices built in 1899 now house The Point, a community arts and performance centre in the heart of town. See Image for a close-up of the stonework above the door.

On Leigh Road. The Council has long since moved elsewhere. I think it is part of The Point arts centre now.

Eastleigh Masonic Centre
I think this building dates from about 1899. This is the Leigh Road frontage although its address is in Cranbury Road which is to the right.

Energy Youth Centre - Leigh Road
The former drill hall was converted in 2011 with grants of £680,000 with recording studio facilities. The pity is that there is not the budget to make full use of it.
