New Forest Hire, Commercial Road, Totton
Now owned by a tool hire company, these were the premises of the Tombes & Drake transport company which was very prominent in Totton during the post-war years, operating motor coaches and lorries. The premises were subsequently taken over by Meachers Transport, a company which still survives and is now based in Southampton.

Station Road, Totton
Looking away from the station. The Red Lion pub can be seen across Commercial Road. During the 1980's it became a wine-bar with an alternative name (which escapes me at the moment!). It has now reverted to a more traditional style pub, with its original name, and appears to be thriving.

Station Road, Totton
This is the north part of Station Road, separated from the south part by the railway, the only connection between the two being the railway footbridge. There was a level crossing here when the railway was originally built but it became the scene of increasing congestion until the Totton Bypass was built in the 1930s. The level crossing was closed once the bypass was completed.
